It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged mainly due to a crazy 5 weeks of work but I’m back with a bang with a round up of a gorgeous Bridal event I had the pleasure to be involved in. (Warning this is very photo heavy!)
Last month some of the Midland’s best Bridal suppliers arrived at Hampton Manor for a display of our wares, an intimate show of some really gorgeous dresses (Matthew Williamson, Jenny Packham et al) from The Wedding Club and a mooch round one of my most favourite Wedding venues.
The reasons why I love Hampton Manor are many but include the Ren products in their swanky bathrooms, a beautiful restaurant and the lovely staff that work there. Check out more of the gorgeous images from the Fayre here particularly the wonderful styling by Ava events.
I was asked to design the makeup look for the show. As we were in the last dregs of Winter and Spring was almost upon us I wanted the look to be as fresh and dewy and pretty as possible with fluttery lashes and a watercolour-esque wash of soft colours.
Very lucky me, the nice people of Jemma Kidd Makeup School gave me some great products to create the look.
I used Light As Air Foundation (an absolute staple in my kit), Dewy Glow radiance creme in Iced Gold as a highlighter and the Cream Cheek Blush in Pomegranate. The lids had a light wash of the Shimmer Shadow in Creme. On the lips I used a blend of the Lipstick Duo in Peggy and Wendy. One of the key parts of the look were the gorgeous I-Glamour Lashes – a really fluttery half lash which are perfect for brides as they are subtle yet give the eyes a sexy shape.
My assistant for the day, the lovely Kylie Farrell very kindly filmed me doing the look on one of the models, but please excuse the background noise as we were right in the thick of the set up for the show and getting the girls ready.
At the end of the show we headed into the grounds of Hampton Manor to take some pictures with the photographer Anna Clarke. Lucked out again here: Anna takes the most whimsical (read: flattering!) pretty but cool photos so I knew the makeup was going to look great.
Here are a few of the gorgeous photos from the impromptu shoot and show from Anna Clarke and some of my backstage shots.

Hey you have done really a great work! I may have to design the makeup look for a wedding ceremony in the next month but I am really worried about my preparation as I am a new makeup artist. I have been learning many tips from a professional Makeup school, which is really amazing. But I want some awesome tips from you. Would you please give me some tips? I have seen Jemma Kidd makeup school where I have got some nice tips like adding an ultra-fine glitter to the eyelid for an extra hint of glamor and the metallic shade to the socket line at the outer corner of the eye and eye line, along with two more layers of mascara to create drama and intensity. Whatever, thanks for your nice article with helpful tips.
